Fried Dough with Roasted Strawberries

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces refrigerated pizza dough, at room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour, for dusting
  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 2 cups frozen whole strawberries
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

Directions

  1. Divide the dough into four equal portions.
  2. Dust a clean work surface with the flour. Place one dough portion on the surface and use a rolling pin to roll to a 1/8-inch thickness. Rub both sides of the dough with 1 tablespoon of oil. Repeat with remaining dough portions and oil.
  3. Place the strawberries in the Zone 2 basket. Sprinkle the granulated sugar on top.
  4. Install a crisper plate in the Zone 1 basket. Place 2 dough portions in the basket and insert the basket in the unit. Insert the Zone 2 basket in the unit.
  5. Select Zone 1, select AIR FRY, set the temperature to 200°C, and set the timer to 18 minutes.
  6. Select Zone 2, select ROAST, set the temperature to 165°C, and set the timer to 20 minutes. Select SMART FINISH.
  7. Press START/PAUSE to begin cooking.
  8. When both timers read 8 minutes, press START/PAUSE. Remove the Zone 1 basket and transfer the fried dough to a cutting board. Place the 2 remaining dough portions in the basket, then reinsert the basket. Remove the Zone 2 basket and stir the strawberries. Reinsert the basket and press START/PAUSE to resume cooking.
  9. When cooking is complete, the dough should be cooked through and the strawberries soft and jammy.
  10. Sprinkle the fried dough with powdered sugar. Gently mash the strawberries with a fork. Spoon the strawberries onto each fried dough portion and serve.
