Ingredients

  • 2 mackerel fillets 
  • 2 tbsp miso 
  • 50ml water 
  • 1 tsp sake 
  • 2 tbsp sugar 
  • 1/2 tbsp soy sauce 
  • 1 1/3 tbsp mirin 
  • 1/2 knob ginger, shredded 
  • Ninja CRISPi - FN101

Directions

  1. Prepare the mackerel: Make shallow cuts on the skin side, sprinkle with salt, let sit for 10 minutes, rinse and pat dry.
  2. In a glass container, mix all ingredients to create the simmering sauce.
  3. Set the Ninja CRISPi to ROAST for 5 minutes and press START to heat the sauce.
  4. Place the mackerel skin-side up, and cover with the sauce.
  5. Set the Ninja CRISPi to ROAST mode for 6 minutes and press START.
  6. Once done, plate the mackerel and optionally run RECRISP mode for 3 minutes to crisp up mackerel skin.
  7. Serve the mackerel with the thickened sauce poured over.
