- 685g flank steak
- salt
- freshly ground black pepper
- 160ml olive oil
- 160ml freshly squeezed lime juice
- 40g chopped fresh cilantro
- 4 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon chilli powder
Directions
- Insert a crisper plate in a basket and spray it with olive oil.
- Place the flank steak in a large mixing bowl. Season with salt and pepper.
- Add the olive oil, lime juice, cilantro, cumin, garlic, and chilli powder and toss to coat the steak.
- For the best flavour, let the steak marinate in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.
- Place the steak in the basket, then insert the basket in Zone 1. Select Zone 1. Turn the dial to select ROAST, set the temperature to 200°C, and set the time to 7 minutes. Press START/PAUSE to begin cooking.
- Using tongs, flip the steak and roast for 7 minutes more.
- Cook the steak to your desired level of doneness. For medium-rare, cook until the internal temperature reaches 55°C, or 60°C for medium. Avoid overcooking to prevent the steak from drying out.
- Let the steak rest for about 5 minutes, then cut into strips.
