Ingredients

  • 8 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 12 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon, ground
  • 4 medium Granny Smith apples, diced
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 4 teaspoons cold water
  • 1 (14-oz) package pastry, 9-inch crust pie
  • Cooking spray
  • 1 tablespoon grapeseed oil
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons milk
  • Ninja Double Stack XL 9.5L Air Fryer – SL400

Directions

  1. Toss apples with brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon in a suitable skillet.
  2. Place the skillet over medium heat and stir cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Mix cornstarch with cold water in a small bowl.
  4. Add cornstarch mixture into the apple and cook for 1 minute until it thickens.
  5. Remove this filling from the heat and allow it to cool.
  6. Unroll the pie crust and spray on a floured surface.
  7. Cut the dough into 16 equal rectangles.
  8. Wet the edges of the 8 rectangles with water and divide the apple filling at the center of these rectangles.
  9. Place the other 8 rectangles on top and crimp the edges with a fork, then make 2-3 slashes on top.
  10. Place 4 small pies in each of the crisper plate.
  11. Return the crisper plate to the Ninja Foodi Dual Zone Air Fryer.
  12. Choose the Air Fry mode for Zone 1 and set the temperature to 200°C and the time to 17 minutes.
  13. Select the "MATCH” button to copy the settings for Zone 2.
  14. Initiate cooking by pressing the START/STOP button.
  15. Flip the pies once cooked halfway through, and resume cooking.
  16. Meanwhile, mix sugar with milk.
  17. Pour this mixture over the apple pies.
  18. Serve fresh.
